"There is no doubt that David Tristram's writing is touched with comic genius"
Chris Jaeger, Chairman, Guild of Drama Adjudicators
David Tristram is now one of the most popular and performed playwrights in Britain (try Google-ing the name)
Every year there are hundreds of amateur and professional performances of his plays all over the world, and his work has been translated into many languages. He started writing in 1985 and now has 28 published comedies to his name, as well as two Indie movies featuring his cult character Inspector Drake, and a comedy novel "A Bolt From The Blue"
Popular one-act works like Last Tango In Little Grimley have already clocked up over 1000 amateur performances.
The Opposite Sex had its professional premiere in South Africa, before completing a hugely successful run on the professional stage in Mexico, breaking box office records there by filling a 450 seater auditorium every night for over a year. Director Roberto D'Amico then went on to translate produce another David Tristram comedy, Unoriginal Sin.
David always tests out his new work under his own direction at a small theatre near his home before releasing it to the wider world.
Professional productions of his plays are currently touring in Europe, with a major UK tour planned for Spring next year.
